Pre-Production of Johnny Come Lately

BALTIMORE, MD – June 1, 2003 – Metropolis Pictures Entertainment is now in pre-production of Johnny Come Lately.

Three years removed from his first feature length film, Francis Xavier is ready to begin principal photography on his latest screenplay, Johnny Come Lately. A pre-production meeting has been scheduled for June 2, 2003 at Greek Islands Restaurant and filming will begin in August. In keeping with the Xavier tradition for horror, Johnny Come Lately is a psychological thriller about a serial killer profiler brought out of retirement to solve his most baffling case to date. Filming will take place in and around Baltimore and will include a Sundance Film Festival award winner as part of the crew. Johnny Come Lately will be completed by the fall of 2004 with a release date contingent upon film festival commitments.

Since April 2000 when Barry’s Gift premiered at the Maryland Film Festival, Francis Xavier has been a driving creative force in the Baltimore Metropolitan Area. In addition to completing his latest screenplay, Xavier has produced television commercial spots, music videos, and numerous video compilations. Most recently, Francis Xavier and Joann Smith teamed up with Mike Kureth to create metpix.com the official website of Metropolis Pictures Entertainment. Many of the projects mentioned above may be viewed courtesy of this site.

Now, with a body of work behind him and a film, Barry’s Gift, that has achieved distribution through Timeless Video, Francis Xavier welcomes you to “the most important invitation of its time”, Johnny Come Lately.
